Every person carrying on a trade or business mentioned in the Schedule to the Trade & Business Licensing Act (2021 Revision) must, unless exempted from this requirement under that law, take out an annual licence in respect of each place where such business is carried on.
The Department of Commerce and Investment (DCI) is responsible for the processing and licensing of Tobacco Licenses in the Cayman Islands. Applications for new licenses can be submitted at any time, however all tobacco applications for license renewals must be submitted no later than 1st November annually or late submission fees will be incurred.
Local Companies (Control) Licenses (LCCL) are issued under the Local Companies (Control) Law (2007 Revision) when a business is not owned solely by a Caymanian National or Caymanian Status Holder.
